About the Design
I celebrated #WorldPangolinDay by raising awareness of this unique scaley mammal by making art! Pangolins are the only mammal with scales, and they use their scales to form a defensive shield by rolling up into a ball, which sadly makes them really easy to poach. They are a type of ant-eater and have tongues almost as long as their bodies, and there are six different species of Pangolins found throughout Africa and Asia. Pangolins are the most illegally trafficked animals in the world and their numbers are rapidly decreasing in the wild due to illegal poaching. Their scales are used in Chinese medicine, and their meat is considered a delicacy across Asia. The crimes humanity is committing against these endearing spiky critters is heartbreaking. You can help fight the illegal trade by spreading awareness of the atrocities committed against these beautiful creatures.
All of my designs are traditionally hand-drawn with inks on paper in my wee studio in Scotland. I then digitise my drawings to create these fun products for you to make your life just a wee bit more awesome!
